The development of LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology, that allows for data acquisition from satellites, airplanes, drones and terrestrial laser scanner, is operative for forest inventories and forest ecology applications. Recent developments have also been made for fuel variables prediction and mapping, useful for wildfire risk and fire behaviour modelling.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the activities of the thematic group devoted to Cartography and LiDAR in the Spanish Society of Remote Sensing, in this workshop methods for the acquisition and processing of LiDAR data and other remote sensing techniques for the characterization and mapping of forest structure variables will be presented and described throughout several invited conferences and a discussion panel organized in three sessions: (1) Forest monitoring and mapping using remote sensing; (2) LiDAR technologies for forest structure assessment; and (3) LiDAR and wildfires: requirements and potential.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>La caracterizaci\u00f3n de la estructura forestal es relevante para el manejo y gesti\u00f3n de los bosques. La tecnolog\u00eda LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) desarrollada en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, que permite obtener datos desde sat\u00e9lites, aviones, drones y l\u00e1ser esc\u00e1ner terrestre, es ya operativa en inventarios forestales y otras aplicaciones de ecolog\u00eda forestal. Adem\u00e1s, su avance est\u00e1 permitiendo la obtenci\u00f3n de cartograf\u00eda de variables de combustibilidad, de gran inter\u00e9s para la prevenci\u00f3n y lucha contra incendios forestales.<\/p>\n<p>En el marco de las actividades del grupo de Cartograf\u00eda y LiDAR de la Asociaci\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola de Teledetecci\u00f3n (AET), en este workshop se presentan y describen metodolog\u00edas de adquisici\u00f3n y procesado de datos LiDAR y otras t\u00e9cnicas de teledetecci\u00f3n para la caracterizaci\u00f3n y cartografiado de variables de estructura forestal, a trav\u00e9s de varias conferencias invitadas y un coloquio organizados en tres secciones: (1) Seguimiento y cartograf\u00eda forestal mediante teledetecci\u00f3n; (2) La tecnolog\u00eda LiDAR para la caracterizaci\u00f3n de la estructura forestal; y (3) LiDAR e incendios forestales: necesidades y potencial.<\/p>\n<p><u>Dirigido a:<\/u><br \/>\nEstudiantes, t\u00e9cnicos e investigadores en el \u00e1mbito de la teledetecci\u00f3n, cartograf\u00eda, ciencias forestales y prevenci\u00f3n de incendios.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfp.upv.es\/formacion-permanente\/cursos\/jornadas-internacionales--tecnologias-lidar-para-la-evaluacion-de-la-estructura-forestal_idiomaes-cid51309.html\" target=\"_blank\">Inscripci\u00f3n gratuita<\/a>.
