Participation in the RCEM symposium in Barcelona

Last week, several members of the Geo-Environmental Cartography and Remote Sensing Group (CGAT) had the pleasure of attending the 14th Symposium on River, Coastal, and Estuarine Morphodynamics (RCEM 2025) in Barcelona, presenting two works:

‘Impact of Steel Industry Waste Dumping on Shoreline Dynamics: A Remote Multi-Decadal Analysis in Sagunt, Valencia’, which applied a remote approach to characterise the shoreline position over multiple decades, tracing its evolution from the cessation of dumping activities to the present day and examining changes in relation to human interventions.

‘3D Evolution of the Millars River and Shoreline Changes on the Surrounding Beaches: A Case Study in Castelló (Eastern Spain)’, which jointly analysed the morphological evolution of the river’s final stretch and the adjacent beaches over the past 40 years.

Thanks to the organisers and all participants for creating such a productive and collaborative environment.
